• D A Oldfield Ltd. is pioneering the use of 100% stainless steel felt as a glass contact material. It has now been adopted by the glass industry as an alternative to the traditional carbon materials. There are different make ups of the felt including heavy duty long lasting material used on IS machine wiper blades, softer grade used on transfers and push bars and a stainless steel woven rope useful on bottle neck guides to support tall unstable ware on the stacker.
• We have fastening systems to quick change and fit the material to alternative supplier’s equipment. This conversion saves the cost of a total replacement assembly to a new design.
• We stock special high temperature bonding adhesives to adhere the material to aluminium or stainless steel plates. This is supplied in 310ml cartridges.
• This material, over a 6 year period, has been proven to have all the features of an ideal material: sufficient thermal stability; reasonable strength; soft and durable; adequate wear resistance; low thermal conductivity; environmentally safe and most importantly it is found to minimise bottle contact faults caused by the use of carbon materials.
• We manufacture complete sub-assemblies such as transfer fingers, pusher bar spacers, wipe-out blades with glass contact material attached ready for use. Sub-assemblies made from C.N.C machined aluminium with laser cut and folded stainless steel fittings.
