D A Oldfield
Ltd. is a family business founded in 1994 which has been supplying and servicing hot end forming and ware handling equipment in the
worldwide glass bottle making industry for over 29 years. The company is managed by ‘glass men’, Donald and his son Garry Oldfield. Don has over 70 years and Garry over 40 years work experience
with feeders and IS machine production lines, synchronisation and ware handling. Time served experience through the drawing office, machine shops, troubleshooting, installation and commissioning in
glassworks, as well as research and development for the industry has given them special talent and expertise within this field.
In August 2019 D A Oldfield Ltd. purchased the
intellectual property rights for “IS Maintenance Ltd.,” a UK company which overhauled and built IS machines, Feeders and supplied spare parts for the hot end. They also developed their own products
such as gob accelerators and IS machine mechanism arms. This acquisition has allowed us to manufacture in more depth in the hot end production area.
Based in the United Kingdom D A Oldfield Ltd.
is in the business of supplying new parts from original drawings for Feeder and IS machines through to our own range of ware handling equipment, we also offer upgrades on original designs and
recondition most machines, including Feeders, IS machine mechanisms, stackers, cross conveyors and transfers. We also produce IS Maintenance Ltd. dissolved parts to the original drawings and
castings.
Over the last 29 years we have taken new
materials and applied them to the glass industry, whilst advancing technologies and delivering affordable products. For example, our fully flexible 700 variable transfer unit stays on line and job
changes quickly from one bottle size to another. Our GDO 1000 cross conveyor is lubrication free and everything including the whole conveyor itself is quick change! During the last 13 years we
have developed and trialled a new high temperature glass contact material made from 100% stainless steel felt; a real breakthrough for the industry. It is proven to eliminate bottle contact marks
particularly from lightweight containers. We have developed ways of fusing the material onto the metalwork used on wipers, transfer fingers and stacker pushbars. We are the only company which can
offer customers carbon, a full range of soft and heavy duty felt and stainless steel braid.
